it's a.........

Yesterday was our ultrasound appointment. We were chomping at the bit for the past month to be able to have another ultrasound and find out the sex of the baby. The technician asked us if we wanted to know the sex and we said "yes too many people are dying to know." She found the head first and said that the baby was head down towards my bladder, which is good. Then she found the feet by my ribs and the next thing was "Well I hope you wanted a boy!" This kid was definitely not shy about showing us that he was a boy. Every where she went he would be showing us. The hardest picture to get was of his face, he always had his hands up covering his face or turned away from us. It was crazy how much personality he already has and we can't wait to have him here.
He is measuring 13 oz and 9 1/4 in long. She said both of those were normal for the time. My due date stayed the same but he is measuring at 20 wks 5 days (yesterday) so that is 3 days ahead.

These are his feet

This one is kind of hard to tell what it is but you can see his face and shoulder and arm
The whole time he was moving like crazy and I was amazed that there are times that I can feel him but most of the time I assume he is just being still. So it was definitely really cool to see how active he is and it made it a lot more real to Daniel to be able to see him and his face.

Couch Side Table

I receive emails about local garage and estate sales. Last week I saw that a community near us was having their annual neighborhood garage sale. We assumed everything would be close by but as we were driving through there were so many houses and many side streets that it went off from the main road. We knew what we were looking for and what we were not looking for (clothes). As we drove down the road I would look at what they had, as best I could some had them inside their garage so you could not tell from the road. I would say that has potential or just clothes that way we knew which ones to stop at when we turned around. Most of them were clothes and knick knacks, neither of which we were looking for. We got out a few, there were some kitchen chairs that would help if we ever needed more chairs but they were asking too much for them. At the last sale we stopped at they had a great antique dresser, but they were asking $300 for it, which is probably a fair price but not what we were looking for or willing to spend. We actually had gone out with no cash and intended to tell them that we would be back with cash if we found anything. Daniel really liked a table that had some stuff on it and asked how much it was, the lady told us $10. We stood looking at it for a couple minutes discussing if we would keep it on its wheels, if we would keep it the color so on, fully intending to pay her the $10. We turned away from it and the lady came up and said if you guys really like it I could give it to you for $5. That was how much Daniel had in his wallet so without hesitation said we'll take it.

These top 3 pictures are before

We decided to just seal it and leave it as is for now. We think it will be a great piece and are very excited

Dining Room Buffet

The previous owners of our home left a few things for us. One of the things they left was a coffee table. This was a table that looked like it was for mostly outside use. One day Daniel and I were talking about going to thrift stores and looking for a buffet we could fix up, as we were talking I looked out the window and saw this table. I suggested that we could just extend the legs to counter height and use the table top. I knew it was wider than most buffets but I was happy just to be able to have some use for the table and to be able to serve food in the dining room. When he got home he measured the legs, they were a 3"x3" so we said no problem we will go buy that and just attach the legs with brackets. Turns out they don't make a 3"x3" and a 4"x4" is really 31/2"x3x1/2" so we decided that we had room for an extra half inch. We were so lucky that his dad was willing to help us. We were able to get the legs on plus we could have a shelf.

This is the table top sanded. I thought I had a picture of the table with the legs but I guess I don't.

The process of putting the legs on was an ordeal to say the least.

After we filled all the seams we let it dry over night. The next morning I painted and added a glaze to add a little depth and it wasn't just a flat table.

The first way I did the glaze I felt it looked too rustic, so I had to repaint and redo the glaze.

I have sealed it and just allowing it to dry. We will be able to move it in Thursday or Friday whenever we get around to it :)
