Gifts from Granny

Granny sent us some money to buy some things in the nursery for West. We immediately decided a monitor would be from her and then with the extra get some Dr. Seuss prints for the wall.
The blocks are also from Granny. They fit into each other and have parts of the One Fish, Two fish book all around it.

This is the camera for our monitor, as you can see it is up high and away from the crib as to not inflict danger upon anyone.
The pictures always come out weird in this bedroom, I think it is the wall color. Needless to say I don't think I will be taking many pictures of West against this wall.

Baby Showers

I was lucky enough to have friends and family both throw me showers. The first one was with my ward here in DeSoto and it was a shower of firsts. i.e. bath time, outing, church time, feeding
It was really fun, we played a game of memory where you had to match the pregnancy term to a candy bar epidural-lifesaver, doctor-butterfinger, breastfeeding-milkyway contractions-whoppers, you get the gist. That was really fun and turned into a team effort rather than an individual game. Next I was the judge and the guests had to rip a piece of paper behind their backs into the shape of a baby. Lastly, was they took a random amount of toilet paper and how many squares they had was how many pieces of advice they had to give me. It was a fun shower and I am so grateful to Lucy and Mardi for throwing it for me and all the hard work they put into the shower for me.

First Diaper Change

First Bath Time

First Feeding

First Story Time

First Playtime

First Church Time

First Outing

The second shower was amazing as well. It was a One Fish Two Fish themed party the decorations turned out so cute. This was just a gathering no games were played so it was nice to catch up with people we don't get to see often and from the Arlington Ward.

Nursery for West

So the nursery isn't 100% finished but I thought I would show what I have. Hopefully soon I will have his bedding and find one more frame to be able to do the display over the dresser. I am also contemplating putting a bookcase horizontally on the wall for more storage. But anyway this is what it looks like as of now.

UPDATE

I finally have his bedding and it is all washed and ironed and ready for him(even though he won't be sleeping in his crib right away) It is so cute and I am so so happy with it.

35 week sonogram

Yesterday was our 35 week appointment. We got to see West again and we were really excited to see how much he had grown. Based on the measurements of his head, abdomen and femur they gave us a length of 18 3/4". He also weighs about 6 lbs 2 oz. He is right in the middle of the normal measurements, not too big not too small. We are anxious to have him here and see what he really looks like. He is a really active kid now so it will be interesting to see if he stays that active or if he becomes more of a subdued baby once he is here.
The pictures we got yesterday were hilarious. We double checked he was still a boy and as usual he did not want to show us his face. In the last pics he was sucking his thumb he has now moved to blowing/sucking on his wrist. I wish we could have gotten some pictures without his arm in the way, but I guess I will have to be patient and wait until he comes to have a really good look at him.

I think this one is the funniest

This one looks a little alien to me, but you can see his tongue licking his arm

Lets just hope all the sucking doesn't leave a scar on his wrist.... though it would be a funny story to tell.
