Football Frenzy

Last Thursday we went to little Kevin's scrimmage football game. When we first got there we looked for Michael and Mason hoping they would be easier to spot than Kevin and then we would know we were on the right track. We didn't have luck with that plan so we sat in the bleachers and tried looking for Kevin. The black team is the Mansfield High team (which is Kevin's school) but they have no numbers on it and we just weren't sure which was him.

As you can see there are a lot of boys out there that we are trying to decipher by the legs or shoes or how dark his tan is. Also there are two games going on at once so you have to look at both games to find him.
As we continued to watch, the fans were getting very involved, and we decided they looked a little too big. So we decided to ask one of the boys if this is were the freshman were playing and he said no that they were on the soccer field. So then we walked back to the soccer field, where two more games were being played.

These are pictures of the freshmen games. We finally found him by finding his bleach blonde hair and kept track of him by the height of his sock and how tan he was. He is a good player and jumped from Team B to Team A. We will be going every Thursday so hopefully I can get some better pictures of him.

Wonderful dessert

Okay on show "The Best Thing I Ever Ate" Kerry Vincent's favorite thing "Ice Creamy" was a Pecan Ball at a place in Dallas called Pacific Cafe. So we decided that we would go to the temple in Dallas and while we were there we would go to the Pacific Cafe and all I can say is WOW, it was amazing.
The restaurant is a real upscale restaurant(of course Kerry Vincent would pick a upscale restaurant). All of the waiters were dressed in ties and had half aprons on. There was also a sign saying you couldn't eat there if you were wearing shorts, flip flops and t-shirts, so lucky for us we were all dressed up because that is not how we usually go out. The table was also all set up with wine glasses, plates, 2 forks, knife spoon and then when we were seated(we had to make reservations), they quickly took away everything and left us with one plate and a smaller fork. They were really on the ball at keeping my water glass full. Even the water was great, it had orange slices in it and was so refreshing. We also got seated right by the kitchen where there were windows so you can see them making your dessert. When the pecan ball came out it was delicious looking. It is a vanilla ice cream  ball rolled in  pecans and then covered with hot fudge, then with a semi sweet whipped cream garnished with a almond brittle. SOOO GOOD!

Daniel also thought we should get another dessert since it was a very nice place. So we also got a bread pudding with bananas foster. So amazing even though there were bananas. The sauce was so rich and buttery. Wow. I can't wait to go back and hopefully have more people come with us!

Rudy's BBQ

We went to this really tasty BBQ place a couple of weeks ago. You get to order any amount of meat that you want or which ever one you want. Like turkey, ham, sausage, brisket and you could get a couple slices, 1/4 lb a 1/2 lb however much you want. You could also get cold sides or hot sides. Coleslaw, corn on the cob, mashed potatoes. The tables were again set up like a picnic area ( it must be a Texas thing, I think they just want everyone to feel like neighbors and such...)
They also had really yummy bbq sauces that are their own
They serve it to you on wax paper and put it all in a milk crate. That way they give you just wax paper and your sauce gets soaked up into a paper plate.

The Sissy Sause is just a little sweeter than the regular bbq sauce.
